6th Controlled Traffic Farming Conference
Providing an environment for discussion of CTF between farmers, researchers & agri-business

The Australian Controlled Traffic Farming Association (ACTFA) is organising the 6th Australian Controlled Traffic Farming Conference in Dubbo, NSW on 12 14 August, 2008. Previous Conferences have been held in Rockhampton (1995), Gatton (1998), Gatton (2005), Ballarat (2006) and Perth (2007).
The CTF 08 Conference aims to help farmers, agribusiness and agricultural/environmental support services to seize the opportunities of high-precision controlled traffic farming to improve the profitability and environmental footprint of farming.
CTF 08 Conference highlights include:
- Presentations from farmers applying the latest and best technology.
- Access to the best technologists, suppliers and service providers.
- Interaction between technology providers and farmers.
- A program which includes:
- Productivity/sustainability improvements achieved with CTF.
- CTF adoption: approaches, costs and outcomes.
- Adoption issues: old and new opportunities.
- Practical assistance for growers contemplating CTF.
- Valuable interaction and information for experienced CTF farmers.
- Field tour to show off CTF farms and technology.
The Conference themes are:

· Contracting and marketing
Papers are invited from authors with knowledge, expertise and experience in the adoption or further development of CTF systems, within these themes.
Authors are requested to provide a brief description of their proposed paper by Friday 16 May. Full papers will be due by 30 June 2008. Papers by farmers describing their own systems and issues, problems and solutions are particularly welcome.
All relevant papers will be accepted for Poster presentation and some for oral presentation. Most oral presentations at CTF 08 will be invited papers. Papers should identify successes, solutions, issues and problems, and stimulate debate and discussion. All relevant papers will be included in the CTF 08 Proceedings.
